摘要 <p>#CMT# #/CMT# The cutter (10) has a body (12) comprising a cut end portion with teeth (20) spaced around a cutter's rotation axis (14), where each tooth comprises a front main cutting edge and a side secondary cutting edge (S2). The main edge is connected to the edge (S2) via a corner (24). The corner is in convex round shape with a radius of curvature greater than 1.5 mm. A secondary cutting angle between a secondary cutting face of each tooth and a reference plane is negative and ranges between 5 and 15 degrees. The angle is measured in a plane perpendicular to the axis and a point of the edge (S2). #CMT# : #/CMT# An independent claim is also included for a method for high-speed machining of a part made of composite material. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Surfacing and contouring cutter for high-speed machining of composite parts e.g. fan casing for an aircraft turbomachine. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The shape and size characteristics of the cutter reduce the cutting force passing between the teeth and the part to be machined, so the cutter withstands the thermal and mechanical stresses such as twisting and compression stresses, without damage, during a machining operation. The cutter allows high-speed machining of the fan casing, thus reducing time required to machine the casing by a factor of ten compared to a carbide cutter. The cutter facilitates determination of depth of cut so as to avoid delamination of the composite material while machining.
