<p>Methods of assessing the sensitivity of a cancer cell to a tyrosine kinase inhibitor are disclosed. Such methods include assessing the expression of miR-497 and correlating reduced expression with sensitivity to the tyrosine kinase inhibitor. Also disclosed are methods of assessing the sensitivity of a cell to a tyrosine kinase inhibitor that includes assessing the expression of FGF1, HOXC10, and/or LHFP. Additionally disclosed are methods of treating patients with tyrosine kinase inhibitors such as sunitinib based on results obtained from the disclosed methods and kits that facilitate the methods.</p> |
