PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact heat exchanger with high heat exchange efficiency, and a heat pump type hot water heater where a highly effectual heat pump operation is achieved. SOLUTION: There are provided a first heat exchange pipe 12A in which a fluid to be heat exchanged flows, and a plurality of heat exchange pipes 12B, 12B in which a heat medium flows. The first heat exchange pipe 12A includes a plurality of stripes of recessed portions 22A, 22B extending axially of a peripheral wall thereof. Each of the plurality of the second heat exchange pipes 12B, 12B is fixed in these plurality of the stripes of the recessed portions 22A, 22B in a heat exchange relation with the first heat exchange pipe 12A. |
