PURPOSE: A disaster information operating method based on a broadcasting network and a portable terminal supporting the same are provided to quickly cope with a disaster by obtaining highly correlated region disaster information. CONSTITUTION: A controller receives broadcasting information(S103). When disaster information is included in the broadcasting information, the controller extracts geographical information of a disaster region from the disaster information(S109). The controller extracts location information of a corresponding base station from the broadcasting information. The controller outputs a preset alarm by using the distance between an indication point of geographical information and an indication point of the location information(S115,S117).
