<p>Hetarylamidine compounds (I) and their N-oxides or salts are new. Hetarylamidine compounds of formula (I) and their N-oxides or salts are new. Either R 1>, R 2>alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, carbocyclyl or heterocyclyl (all optionally substituted), H, CN, acyl, OR1a or SR1a; and R 3>alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, alkoxycarbonyl, carbocyclyl or heterocyclyl (all optionally substituted), OH, SH, SO 3H, CN, H, OR1b or SR1b; or R 1>R 2>, R 2>R 3>5-7 membered ring (optionally substituted and optionally having 1 or 2 O); R1a, R1b : alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, carbocyclyl or heterocyclyl (all optionally substituted); X 4>C-R 4>or N; X 5>C-R 5>or N; X 6>C-R 6>or N; X 7>C-R 7>or N, provided that X 4>-X 7>residue contains 0-2 N; R 4>-R 7>alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, alkoxy, alkoxyalkyl, amino, carbocyclyl or heterocyclyl (all optionally substituted), H, halo, OH, azido, nitro, CN, acyl, cyanato, SF 5, OR2b or S(O) nR2b; R2b : 1-12C-alkyl, 3-10C-carbocyclyl or 3-10C-heterocyclyl (all optionally substituted); and n : 0-2.
