PURPOSE: A circuit and method of aligning data in a semiconductor memory apparatus are provided to improve area efficiency and design simplicity by performing data alignment without internal clock. CONSTITUTION: A data strobe clock phase controller(10) controls the phase of a data strobe clock and a delay strobe clock. A plurality of data phase controllers(21~28) controls the phase of each input data. A plurality of data phase controllers generates delay data. A plurality of data aligning units(31~33) latches delay data, latch data, and align data respectively. A delay code generation unit(40) generates the strobe delay code and plurality of data delay codes.
