<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information-supporting pipe constructing method of an existing pipeline and an information-supporting pipe constructing structure of the existing pipeline for easily changing a main pipe without a sheath pipe for accommodating a communication cable to an information-supporting pipe in the existing pipeline with branch pipes branched from the main pipe. <P>SOLUTION: The sheath pipe 1 is provided with: a main body formed with a space for accommodating the communication cable; and a high-strength low-extension material body 4 integrated with the main body in the longitudinal direction of the main body, and comprising a belt-like cloth using strings having a high-strength low-extension characteristic in the longitudinal direction, and inserted into the existing pipeline through manholes 9, 10. The high-strength low-extension material body 4 is fixed to internal walls of the manholes 9, 10 by applying a tension.
