PURPOSE: A composition containing Psychotria rubra (Lour.) Poir. Extract for preventing or treating obesity-associated diseases is provided to suppress pancreatic lipase action and to prevent resorption of fatty acid. CONSTITUTION: A composition for preventing or treating obesity-associated diseases contains Psychotria rubra (Lour.) Poir. extract as an active ingredient. The Psychotria rubra (Lour.) Poir. extract is isolated using water, alcohol of C1-C4 or mixture solvent thereof. The obesity-associated diseases are obesity, hyperlipidemia or metabolic syndrome. The composition is a pharmaceutical composition or food composition.
