ELEVATOR FOR WASTE CONTAINERS

Subject: arrangement for the vertical displacement of urban waste containers 2 onto a carrier 3 moving inside an adequate recess of the ground (pit). The carrier 3 is elevated by means of a certain number of vertical telescopic members 4 composed of a cylinder 41 and a piston 42; liquid under pressure is drawn up into the foregoing telescopic members. The main characteristic of the telescopic members is that their pistons 42 are firmly adapted (via suitable projections) to the bottom of the pit and their moving part whereto the carrier is connected is cylinders enclosing the aforementioned pistons. When vertically moving, said cylinders come into contact with the guiding wheels 300 adapted to the walls of the pit in order to impede the lateral displacements of the carrier, the vertical ones being allowed. In a special embodiment of the invention, the pressure of the liquid contained into the telescopic members 4 is replaced by a pump 63 encountered on the waste-collecting vehicle.
