A THREE DIMENSION POINTING DEVICE USING BEAM PATTERN

PURPOSE: A three dimension pointing device using a beam pattern is provided to display the movement distance and direction of a pointer on a screen by detecting the movement distance and direction through a scanning operation using a beam having a random pattern. CONSTITUTION: A reception unit(12) is installed at a portion opposite to a light source(16) installed at a light emission unit in order to receive the beam generated from the light source. A control lever(15) moves in the left/right directions in a portion opposite to the reception unit in order for the reception unit to enable the left/right movement of the beam. The light source is installed at the one side of the control lever, faces the reception unit and generates the beam having a pattern. An MCU(Micro Controller Unit) is connected to the reception unit and calculates the movement direction and distance of the beam pattern generated from the light source.
