PROTOCOL CONVERTING APPARATUS FOR CAR HAVING MULTIPLE COMMUNICATION NETWORKS

PURPOSE: A protocol conversion device for a vehicle is provided to smoothly transfer data by preventing the loss of data and the delay of a data transmission when data is transmitted from a high speed network to a low speed network. CONSTITUTION: A data storage part(100) stores identification information regarding each network, a data transfer rate, and protocol conversion information about each network by using a lookup table. An input interface(110) transmits a data packet which is inputted through a single communications network to an ID decoder(120). The ID decoder detects the identification information regarding a start location and a destination location from the data packet. A central processing unit(130) converts the data packet into the protocol of a network including the destination location. An ID encoder(140) codes the identification information about the destination location to the data packet. An output interface(150) sequentially stores the data packet in a buffer.
