PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing a liquid crystal display device is provided to obtain a liquid crystal display device with excellent electrical property while enabling high-speed response at high brightness. CONSTITUTION: A method for manufacturing a liquid crystal display device comprises the steps of: forming a film consisting of a polymer with a structure represented by chemical formula (I) on a transparent pixel electrode, as a step for pinching nematic liquid crystals in which a dielectric anisotropy is negative between two substrates; and applying voltage the transparent pixel electrode to arrange the crystal and irradiating light.
