Cosmetic use of perlite particles (I) having a particle size such that at least 50% of the particles are less than 25 mu m, in a cosmetic and/or dermatological composition comprising a medium, as active agent to maintain and/or restore biomechanical skin properties, is claimed. ACTIVITY : Dermatological. MECHANISM OF ACTION : Collagen III stimulator; Collagen IV stimulator; Collagen VII stimulator. The ability of (I) to stimulate collagen III was tested in vitro using normal human fibroblast. The result showed that the percentage of collagen III increased was 276%.
