PURPOSE: A method and a device for previewing a broadcasting channel in a portable terminal are provided to preview a channel before accessing a broadcasting application through a PID(Packet Identifier) and an SDP(Session Description Protocol) of a pre-obtained dynamic zapping service. CONSTITUTION: A portable terminal checks receiving of dynamic zapping data at preset time(511). The portable terminal provides information for each channel to a user by playing the dynamic zapping data(513). The portable terminal receives and analyzes PSI/SI(Program Specific Information/Service Information) and ESG(Electronic Service Guide). If a broadcasting application access menu is selected, the portable terminal configures a channel list through PSI/SI and ESG analysis results(515,517).
