PURPOSE: An electrode for a plasma arc torch is provided to improve the speed of a cooling fluid by forming a helix guide groove in the inner side and outer side of a coolant tube or the inner side of an electrode main body. CONSTITUTION: A cylindrical insertion product(3), which is made of high temperature emissive material such as hafnium and zirconium, is inserted into the hole(2a) of the leading end of an electrode main body(2). The leading end of a pipe-shaped coolant tube(5) is combined with the cylindrical insertion product in order form a fluid path inside the electrode main body in a longitudinal direction. A helix guide groove(6) is formed in the inner part of the electrode main body. A helix guide groove is formed in the outer and inner side of the coolant tube. A space ring, which has a projection, is inserted into a bracket(8) fixing the cylindrical insertion product. |
