PURPOSE: An image processing apparatus and a method thereof are provided to efficiently remove noise from a depth image when a depth image for a dynamic object is generated. CONSTITUTION: A calculation unit(121) calculates a temporal weight. The temporal weight is applied to one or more second frame depth values of the first pixel respectively. A calculation unit calculates a range weight. The range weight is applied to one or more second frame depth values of the first pixel respectively. A calculation unit calculates the compensated first frame depth value of the first pixel by applying the calculated temporal weight and/or range weight.
