The exchanger (1) has a cooling stage (2a) connected with an inlet (10) and an outlet (11) for a cooling medium. Another cooling stage (2b) cools a part of volume flow and has an inlet (13) connected with the outlet of the former stage. An outlet (15) of the latter stage is connected with the outlet of the former stage. A flange (3) fastens the exchanger to an oil filter module or an internal combustion engine. The flange has an inlet opening and an outlet opening for the medium and an inlet opening (5) and outlet openings (6, 14) for a cooled medium flowing from the stages.
