The device (1) has a temporary storage (2) for collecting volatile fuel components and connected with an intake system (15) of an internal combustion engine (14) of a motor vehicle by a check valve (4) i.e. double check valve (5), based on a switching condition of the valve. The valve has two check valve elements combined as an assembly and comprising sectionally resiliently flexible valve membranes (28, 29) cooperating with seal seats (26, 27) and laterally supported in a region of the seats. The membranes are formed as rubber mold parts or made of elastomer.
