The method involves forming a foil (3) as a side-lateral open foil bag before wrapping, where periphery of the foil bag is smaller than periphery of piece-goods to be wrapped. The periphery of the foil bag is widened by an extension device (4). An opening of the foil bag is aligned after widening in a vertically formed level, so that the piece-goods are conveyable in a horizontal direction (F) into the foil bag. The foil bag is pulled in the horizontal direction by the extension device by conveying movement of the piece-goods. An independent claim is also included for a device for wrapping piece-goods with a foil.
