<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-braid exterior tube the outer sheath of which has: a relatively thin wall provided with a relatively small outer diameter and a relatively large inner diameter; a desired rigidity toward the longitudinal direction to give sufficient "pushability"; a tensile strength and a torsional rigidity to allow deployment of tools in the narrow and meandering circumstance of an intravascular system without a damage given to a patient; and a good balance between a large rigidity toward the longitudinal direction and a bendable flexibility to obtain strength as well as flexibility for moving in a lumen in the body. <P>SOLUTION: The multi-braid exterior tube has a composite structure which includes an inner tubular layer 7, a reinforcing layer 8, 9, and a polymer matrix layer 10, wherein the exterior tube is braided with a polymer material and a metal to reinforce.
