<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a game apparatus and the like wherein the game play can be temporarily stopped and after cancellation of the temporary stop, the player is allowed to suitably resume the game in a natural manner. <P>SOLUTION: A game apparatus 300 includes a control unit 301 for controlling the development degree of a game having a plurality of segments, and a detecting unit 302 for detecting a necessity of suspending the game. If the necessity of suspending the game is detected, the control unit 301 advances the game until the development degree thereof arrives at the next segment.
