PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a liquid ejection head improved in water repellency and rigid force by an inorganic film, in the less number of processes and a less time. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the liquid ejection head includes processes for (1) forming a liquid passage mold 4 formed of soluble resin to form a mold for a liquid passage, and a covering resin layer 5 on a substrate 1 provided with an energy generating element 2, (2) forming a discharge port 7 of tapered shape reduced toward the tip of an orifice, in the covering resin layer 5, (3) forming the inorganic film 11 formed of an inorganic material, on the covering resin layer 5 formed with the discharge port 7, (4) forming a liquid supply port 9 in the substrate 1, and (5) dissolving and eliminating the liquid passage mold 4 from the liquid supply port 9 after forming the inorganic film 11.
