PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition which is suitable as a composition for oral administration and has glutathione production acceleration for improving the oxidative stress defense and the detoxification function in a living body. SOLUTION: An extract obtained by extracting a plant of Achillea millefolium with 30% cold ethanol for 24 hours and freeze-drying the resulting extract shows glutathione production acceleration. This extract accelerates the expression ofγ-glutamylcysteine synthetase (GCS) as one mechanism. A composition having a glutathione production acceleration is suitable as a composition for oral administration containing an extract of a plant belonging to Achillea sp.
