PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic probe for converging ultrasonic wave also on a deep position of an object to be inspected whose surface is a concave curved surface. SOLUTION: An acoustic lens 103 having a curvature radius of 1/2 to 2/3 of the curvature radius of the concave curved surface of the object to be inspected 102 is interposed between an element 105 for generating or/and receiving ultrasonic wave and the object to be inspected 102. The converging effect of the ultrasonic wave by the concave curved surface of the object to be inspected 102 is reduced by refraction of the ultrasonic wave in the diffusion direction when the ultrasonic wave propagates from the acoustic lens 103 to an intermediate medium (contact medium). The ultrasonic wave is converged in a deep part (about several times the curvature radius of the concave surface) from the concave curved surface, and the echo of the ultrasonic wave from a defect 106 existing in the deep part is received in a reverse propagation route.
