PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance earthquake-resisting performance of a masonry wall without shifting the masonry wall. SOLUTION: An anchor plate 350 is attached to a lower end 306 of a prestressing bar 302 from a horizontal hole 210 which is formed in a foundation 200 of a brick wall 100, without shifting the existing brick wall 100. Subsequently, the anchor plate 350 is fixed by infilling high-early-strength concrete 212 into the horizontal hole 210. In other words, the anchor plate 350 functioning as a fixed end can be provided at the lower end 306 of the prestressing bar 302, without the relocation of the brick wall 100, by forming the horizontal hole 210 in the foundation 200. A compressive force is applied between the upper and lower ends 120 and 110 of the brick wall 100 by the plurality of prestressing bars 302 which penetrate between the upper and lower ends 120 and 110 of the brick wall 100 and to which a tensioning force is applied.
