The method involves operating an injector (12,14,16,18) at two different values of a rail pressure, where a no-load operating demand of the injector is reviewed. A leakage of the injector is detected by a change in the no-load operating demand. The no-load operating demand is reviewed by a no-load operating controller (22) of an internal combustion engine. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) an arrangement for detecting a leakage of an injector of an injection system of an internal combustion engine; (2) a computer program; and (3) a computer program product.
