<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently select an optimal recording strategy. <P>SOLUTION: A semiconductor integrated circuit 4 which can be mounted on an optical disk apparatus includes: a motor control circuit 47, a laser control circuit 46, a pickup position control circuit 45, signal detection circuits 41 and 42, a control unit 43, and a memory 44. The control unit 43 calculates a plurality of initial strategies from one standard initial strategy, and records evaluation data onto an optical disk 1 while varying recording laser power according to the plurality of initial strategies. The control unit 43 executes signal quality evaluation for a plurality of pieces of evaluation data by data reproduction of the signal detection circuits 41 and 42. Based on the result of the evaluation, one of the plurality of initial strategies is selected as an adjustment start strategy, and based on the selected strategy, the optimal recording strategy which is used for actual recording is determined. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
