摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently select an optimal recording strategy. <P>SOLUTION: A semiconductor integrated circuit 4 which can be mounted on an optical disk apparatus includes: a motor control circuit 47, a laser control circuit 46, a pickup position control circuit 45, signal detection circuits 41 and 42, a control unit 43, and a memory 44. The control unit 43 calculates a plurality of initial strategies from one standard initial strategy, and records evaluation data onto an optical disk 1 while varying recording laser power according to the plurality of initial strategies. The control unit 43 executes signal quality evaluation for a plurality of pieces of evaluation data by data reproduction of the signal detection circuits 41 and 42.
