<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and method for acquiring a time waveform of a terahertz wave, capable of suppressing an effect by mechanical movement of a delay part. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus has a generation part (101) of the terahertz wave, a detection part (102) of the terahertz wave, a first delay part (103) for changing an optical path length difference of excitation light irradiated to the generation part and the detection part, and a second delay part (104) for changing a time difference until the excitation light arrives at the generation part and the detection part. In the method, a first time waveform is acquired by using the first delay part by the first optical path length difference in the second delay part. The first optical path length difference is changed into the second optical path length difference by using the second delay part. A second time waveform is acquired by using the first delay part by the second optical path length difference. The acquired first and second time waveforms are allowed to agree with an optical path length difference determined beforehand from each of the first and second optical path length differences. The first and second time waveforms agreeing with the optical path length difference determined beforehand are subjected to addition average. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
