PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use a terminal device of a waterproof structure on the water also effectively. SOLUTION: This is a portable wireless communication device equipped with a casing made as the waterproof structure. Wireless communication is possible by providing a wireless communication processing portion inside the casing, and also an operating mode of the device is set to a mode selected from among an ordinary mode and a mode for in the water or for on the water by control of a control portion. As the mode for in the water or for on the water is provided when the terminal device is in the water or on the water, for example, it is possible to set the operating mode suitable for usage in the state, and it is possible to enhance usability in the water or on the water.
