PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic teller machine reducing a cost of it being installed on a wall surface, improving crime prevention and easily removing the jamming of bills when the jamming occurs. SOLUTION: In the automatic teller machine, a cash box 112 has: storage cabinets 5a to 5d for storing bills; first conveyance paths 20 and 22 to 24 for conveying bill from/to the storage cabinets when paying and receiving the bill; a first opening port 114 passing through the first conveyance paths; a second opening port 114' provided apart from the first opening port; a second conveyance path 21 connected to the conveyance path of the first conveyance paths to pass through the second opening port; and a discriminating part 3 arranged over the first conveyance paths to acquire information about bill denominations to discriminate the bills. A temporarily storing part 4 for temporarily storing the bill discriminated by the discriminating part 3 through the second conveyance path 21, and a transaction port 2 connected to the first conveyance paths to set bills for deposit and reception to a user, are arranged outside the cash box.
