PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simulation device capable of properly dealing with friction between a flexible medium and a transfer guide and exactly evaluating a behavior of the tip of the flexible medium. SOLUTION: When the behavior of the flexible medium to be conveyed in a transfer path is simulated, a transfer path definition part 2 defines components, for example, the transfer guide in the transfer path. A flexible medium model creation part 3 divides the flexible medium into a plurality of rigid elements with mass to be expressed as an elastic body by connecting between each rigid element by a spring. A transfer condition setter 4 distinguishes and sets a friction coefficient between the rigid element at the tip of the flexible medium and the transfer guide and a friction coefficient between a rigid element in an area other than the tip of the flexible medium and the transfer guide. A motion calculation unit 5 calculates motions of the flexible medium in time series based on the transfer condition set by the transfer condition setter 4.
