PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that when a recessed part exists in a secondary transfer roller, there is a case that a vibration occurs when a transfer medium forming the secondary transfer roller and a nip part is switched from a position in contact with the part except the recessed part to a position facing the recessed part or is switched from the position facing the recessed part to the position in contact with the part except the recessed part. SOLUTION: In a transfer device, when the secondary transfer roller 61 and a belt drive roller 41 come into contact with each other through an intermediate transfer belt 40, and when a contact member 70 and a support member 75 come into contact with each other, the sum of a distance R1, from the center of the shaft part of the secondary transfer roller 61 to the contact part of the circumferential surface 70a of the contact member 70 with the support member 75, and a distance R2, from the center of the shaft part of the belt drive roller 41 to the contact part of the circumferential surface of the contact member with the support member, is equal or nearly equal to the shaft-to-shaft distance of the secondary transfer roller 61 and the belt drive roller 41.
