PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting device capable of securely preventing cut pieces from scattering even when cutting a solid rod-like member. SOLUTION: Holding mechanisms 40 are arranged at both sides of a cutting-edge tool 34 to securely hold the rod-like member B during cutting. The holding mechanism 40 has a holding member 41 having a holding surface 41c and an elastic body 42. The holding member 41 contacts with the rod-like member first, the cutting-edge tool 34 contacts with the rod-like member B, and thereafter bites into the rod-like member B during cutting. The holding member 41 is displaced while compressing the elastic body 42 in this process.
