PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor that simultaneously reduces cogging and ripple. SOLUTION: The motor 1 includes a stator 2 and a moving element 3 movable relative to the stator 2. A magnetic flux is successively generated in a gap G formed between the stator 2 and the moving element 3 so as to move the moving element 3 relative to the stator 2. The moving element 3 is configured as an inductor including: magnetic poles 31A, 31B, 31C with coils 32A, 32B, 32C wound thereon, respectively, and arranged along a specific direction; and pole teeth 311 formed on the apical surfaces 311a of the magnetic poles 31A, 31B, 31C that face the gap G along the specific direction. A notch 311b, which communicates with a slot 312 as a gap between adjacent pole teeth 311 and partially narrows the cross-sectional shape of each pole tooth 311 along the specific direction, is formed in each tooth 311 of the inductor.
