<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus and a program for specifying a main object included in an image even if a whole area of the image is focused. <P>SOLUTION: A band image which is obtained by extracting an image of each frequency band is produced in each previously determined frequency band in which an outline of a focused object is extracted from image information indicating an object image to be processed, and in each at least one frequency band which is lower than the previously determined frequency band, then a feature portion which becomes to be a feature relating to each produced band image is extracted. When a proportion occupied by the feature portion within the band image of the predetermined frequency band in which the feature portion is extracted becomes not less than a previously determined proportion, an object area of the image indicated by the image information is specified based on the band image of each frequency band from which the band image of the previously determined frequency band is removed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
