摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an environmental load reduction type heat-resistant polyester using a non-fossil raw material as a principal raw material of the polyester and having excellent heat resistance, and to provide a method for producing the same. <P>SOLUTION: In the environmental load reduction type heat-resistant polyester,≥20 wt.% of the total amount of components constituting the polyester is derived from a non-fossil raw material by polymerization using ethylene glycol produced from biomass resources as a diol component as a raw material, and in all carbon atoms, a ratio of<SP>14</SP>C concentration based on<SP>14</SP>C concentration (100%) in circulating carbon at the time of the year 1950 is≥11%. The polyester has intrinsic viscosity of 0.50-1.00 dL/g and a melting point of≥230°C, that is, the polyester has high heat resistance comparable to that of a polymer using fossil raw materials.
