PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic transmission capable of reducing a friction loss. SOLUTION: A first element Sa is connected to an input shaft 2, and a second element Ca is connected to a first driving gear G1a. A first driven gear G1b is pivotally supported to an output shaft 3, and a seventh element Rc and a second driving gear G2a are connected, and a second driven gear G2b is fixed to the output shaft 3. A first connecting body is formed by connecting a third element Ra and a fifth element Cb, and a second connecting body is formed by connecting a sixth element Rb and a ninth element Sc. The automatic transmission has a first engaging mechanism C1 for freely connecting the input shaft 2 and an eighth element Cc, a second engaging mechanism C2 for freely fixing the first driven gear G1b to the output shaft 3, a third engaging mechanism C3 for freely connecting the second element Ca and the second connecting body, and the fourth-sixth engaging mechanisms B1-3 for respectively freely fixing the first connecting body, a fourth element Sb and the eighth element Cc to a transmission case 1.
