PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital broadcast receiving system capable of segmenting a story from a broadcast program. SOLUTION: The digital broadcast receiving system, which generates information of a dividing point for a program broadcast in digital broadcast, includes: a program decoding means for receiving the digital broadcast and decoding the program; a dividing point generating means for generating the information of the dividing point for the program; and a program recording and playback means for recording and playing back the program. The dividing point generating means includes: a routine image detecting means which detects a prescribed routine image and defines a time related to the detected routine image as a first time during a period of time in which the program recording and playback means records the program; and an image transition detecting means which detects a transition of the image from the program and defines a time related to the detected transition as a second time, during a period of time in which the program recording and playback means records the program.
