Disclosed is an organic EL display device (1) comprised of an element substrate (30); a seal substrate (20) opposed to the element substrate (30); an organic EL element (4) provided on the element substrate (30) and between the element substrate (30) and the seal substrate (20); a first seal element (5) which is composed of a frit glass, and is provided between the element substrate (30) and the seal substrate (20) to weld the element substrate (30) to the seal substrate (20) so as to seal the organic EL element (4); a resin member (14) which is provided between the seal substrate (20) and the organic EL element (4) to cover the surface of the organic EL element (4); and a second seal element (16) which is composed of resin, and is provided between the element substrate (30) and the seal substrate (20).
