PURPOSE: An air conditioner satisfying the optimized thermal comfort sensation and an energy optimizing method using PMV values corresponding to the starting and ending points of the air conditioner are provided to operate the air conditioner based on the thermal comfort sensation, entry time and leaving time. CONSTITUTION: Air-conditioner controls an indoor temperature in consideration of sensed indoor and outdoor temperatures and a target temperature. Air-conditioner comprises an input part(11), a driving part(15) and a controller(20). The input part comprises the keys about the drive and setting of an air-conditioner. The driving part operates the air-conditioner in a heating mode and a cooling mode. The controller calculates how long it takes to get a specific heat comfort index.
