<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disc brake device for a railroad vehicle capable of making both compatible at a high level in maintaining or improving compactness of a device itself and increasing brake performance. <P>SOLUTION: This disc brake device has two caliper levers 6 and 6 and an actuator 14 having a movable rod 15, and also has an energization converting mechanism for increasing its force by converting operation of the movable rod 15 into the direction for expanding or reducing an interval of the two caliper levers 6 and 6, and also has a biasing spring 26 for biasing so as to expand or reduce the interval of the two caliper levers 6 and 6. The energization converting mechanism comprises a cam mechanism having a driven shaft 46 (a transmission shaft) pivotally joined to the caliper levers 6 and 6 and a plate cam 45 (a cam body) for push-moving the transmission shaft 46 by rotating.
