<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correctly display image information when a reduced image is displayed, by applying image processing to a required reduced image while maintaining a high-speed display speed. <P>SOLUTION: By referring to edit information, it is determined whether an image deformation instruction is included or not in the content of editing indicated by the edit information and whether a range designation instruction for an image is included or not in the content of the editing indicated by the edit information. When it is determined that the image deformation instruction and the range designation instruction for the image are included in the content of the editing indicated by the edit information, image deformation based on the image deformation instruction is performed to a copy of a thumbnail image, and the deformed copy obtained by the image deformation is output as a display object.
