PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cold storage type refrigerating machine which improves refrigerating performance in performing cooling to a temperature lower than the critical temperature of a refrigerant. SOLUTION: In the relationship between timings (a)-(d) of air supply/exhaust and a volume of a refrigerant expansion space, at least one of following three conditions is satisfied; (1) the difference between an air supply average phase angle and a phase angle to minimize a volume of the refrigerant expansion space by a displacer is kept within a range of -15 to 25°C, (2) the difference between an exhaust average phase angle and a phase angle to maximize the volume of the refrigerant expansion space by the displacer is kept within a range of -15 to 40°C, and (3) averages of the difference between the air supply average phase angle and the phase angle to minimize the volume of the refrigerant expansion space by the displacer, and the difference between the exhaust average phase angle and the phase angle to maximize the volume of the refrigerant expansion space by the displacer are kept within the range of -15 to 25°C.
