PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a damping device having a large movable range while keeping total length at prescribed length. SOLUTION: This damping device 1 attenuates relative movement of a support structure 100 and a damping object 101, and includes a plurality of dampers 5a, 5b including cylinders 10a, 10b and piston rod parts 20a, 20b. A first damper group including one or more dampers 5a in which a direction of movement of the piston rod parts 20a, 20b with respect to cylinder parts 10a, 10b is in a prescribed direction and a second damper group including one or more dampers 5b in which the direction of movement is in a direction opposite to the prescribed direction are included, each damper 5a, 5b is disposed in parallel in a direction perpendicular to the direction of movement, and a direction of a center of gravity of damping force of the first damper group and a direction of a center of gravity of damping force of the second damper group are on the same line.
