PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cell-disintegrating apparatus and method that disintegrate required cells such as chlorella, in a short time while suppressing rise in the temperature of the cells. SOLUTION: The cell-disintegrating apparatus 1 includes a stock solution storage tank 3 to store a suspension 2 containing prescribed cells C, a treatment tank 4 connected to the stock solution storage tank 3, a treatment liquid storage tank 6 that is connected to the treatment tank 4 and stores a treatment liquid 5 containing a cell extract E obtained by disintegrating the cells C, an opposed plate 27 that is arranged on the treatment tank 4 and has a nozzle 27a to which the suspension 2 is supplied from the stock solution storage tank 3 and a vibration generator 28 that is opposed to the opposed plate 27 through a narrow space S and generates vibrations in the narrow space S.
