SAQUINAVIR MESYLATE ORAL DOSAGE FORM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid unit oral pharmaceutical dosage form of saquinavir mesylate having a uniform and rapid dissolution profile. SOLUTION: The oral solid dosage form is provided comprising micronized saquinavir mesylate in an amount of from 250 to 800 mg calculated as free base, and a pharmaceutically acceptable binder, disintegrant and a water-soluble carrier. The solid unit dosage form of saquinavir mesylate comprises 60-80% micronized saquinavir mesylate based on the mesylate salt, 4-8% water-soluble binder, a disintegrant, and a carrier, wherein each percentage is of the kernel weight.
