A waterproof gasket (1) attached to an outer case of small size electronic appliances, which is hard to tilt in a retainer groove and is capable of preventing a resisting force to compression from increasing at its corners (1B). The waterproof gasket of the present invention has straight portions (1A) and corner portions (1B) alternately on the periphery thereof. The gasket has also a main seal portion (11) and seat seal portions (12) that abut tightly against the bottom surface of the groove. The straight portion (1A) has shoulder portions (13) projecting laterally between the main seal portion (11) and the seat seal portion (12) so that the shoulder portions come closer to the inner wall of the shoulder portions of the groove, whereas the corner portion (1B) has recessed portions (14) between the main seal portion (11) and the seat seal portion (12) that are laterally recessed as compared with the shoulder portions (13). |
