<p>A driving system for an electric vehicle and a control method thereof are provided. The system is provided with a range extending system having a generator set (1) as main body, and can implement the range increase when the energy of a power battery (10) is too low. An engine (2) is no more the driving power source for the whole vehicle, but is mainly used to drive a generator (3) to generate electricity. Within a designed range for pure electric driving, the system implements the pure electric running without fuel consumption. When a running range is beyond the designed range for the power battery (10), a driving motor (4) utilizes the electric energy generated by the generator (3) to drive the whole vehicle, so that the mode control among the driving motor (4), the power battery (10) and the generator set (1) is optimized, thereby increasing the driving range for the whole vehicle.</p> |
