<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display and a driving method thereof for outputting different sounds depending upon characteristics of display images. <P>SOLUTION: The display includes: a display unit 100 which has a plurality of pixels and displays images by selectively emitting a plurality of pixels in accordance with input video signals and input image control signals; a signal controller 400 which reads the input video signals to generate on-pixel signals having information about a ratio of the number of the pixels that emit light in the plurality of pixels for each frame; and a sound controller 500 which divides the ratio of the light-emitting pixels into predetermined ranges to define a plurality of levels, and detects the level corresponding to the on-pixel signals from among the plurality of levels, so as to generate a sound instruction signal corresponding to the detected level. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
