<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of preventing an increase in cost and processing jam with favorable operability. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes a device body having a cartridge door and a jam processing door 24, and an image heating device having a mechanism by which a film guide unit and a pressing roller are brought close to each other or separated from each other. The image heating device can be attached and detached to/from the device body. The device body has a link mechanism making the opening/closing of the cartridge door and the jam processing door 24 interlocked with the action of the abutting/separation mechanism. The image heating device has a connection/separation means connecting and separating the abutting/separation mechanism and the link mechanism to/from each other. The link mechanism has two extensible shafts (an arm 31 and a link 60). When the cartridge door opens from a first position to a second position, the film guide unit and the pressing roller are in pressing states. When the cartridge door opens from the second position to a third position, the link mechanism actuates the abutting/separation mechanism, and the film guide unit and the pressing roller are released in pressure. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
